A year ago, Alvarado topped Wichita Falls Hirschi in the third round of the playoffs.

Friday night, Hirschi got its revenge downing Alvarado, 69-51, in a Class 3A Region I area-round playoff game at Bridgeport.

Hirschi, the eighth-ranked team in the state according to the latest Texas Association of Basketball Coaches poll, jumped out to a 15-8 lead on the Indians in the first quarter.


By halftime the Indians trailed 33-21 lead. The Huskies (20-9) put the game away in the third quarter with a 24-13 run that left the Indians (17-16) down 57-34.
