Heading into its first playoff game in 13 years, Alvarado’s girls basketball team split a pair of games last week.

The Lady Indians (16-12, 4-4) defeated Ferris, 43-28, Friday in a playoff warmup game and lost its final District 7-3A game last Tuesday against Glen Rose, 48-38.

Alvarado played Burnett Tuesday night at Valley Mills in a Class 3A Region I bi-district playoff game. No result was available at presstime.

“Glen Rose was a very physical game,” said Alvarado coach Jenny McKinney. “We battled foul trouble and had too many turnovers.”

Darcy Pack led the Lady Indians in scoring with 11 points.

Against Ferris, Jazlin Jones scored 17 points and Lexi Jones added nine points.
