Alvarado’s tennis team had a big show Friday as the Indians won the Alvarado Classic.

The Indians tallied 18 points to win the title. Haltom finished second with eight points and Arlington Grace Prep was third with six points.

“It was a big day for us as we dominated here at home,” Alvarado coach Matt McCleary said. “Everyone had a good day with many walking away with medals.”

In boys doubles, Alvarado was assured of medal as Miguel Alvarez and Mario Peralez faced teammates Dillon Deatherage and Isaac Kil in the finals. Alvarez and Peralez finished first while Deathrage and Kil
placed second.

The Lady Indians swept the singles competition. Cherakee Jackson won the title defeating teammate Raigan Swaim, who finished second. Taylor Sawyer placed third.

Shelbi Lesley and Mackenzie Sherrill finishhed third in girls doubles play, while Alyssa Butteris and Jordan Eicke placed fourth.

In mixed doubles, Danni Urban and Collin Williams were third and Ashlee Estes and Chris Zevecke finished fourth. Colton Gore was the consolation runner up in boys singles.
