The Alvarado Junior High honors and symphonic bands earned sweepstakes awards at the UIL Region 7 Concert and Sight-Reading Contest on March 30. A band earns a sweepstakes awards when each of the tree judge in both categories gives it a first division rating. This is the third year in a row for the symphonic and fourth for the honor band to receive the honor. The honor band member are, first row from left, Nick Sears, Vienetta Mayfield, Melissa Vega, Brianna Kersey, Lauren Guillen, Jessica Rose, Mykala Leatherman, Haley West, Emily Lovette, Jessica Boganwright, Aracelie Castillo and David Parada. Second row, Brittany Domangue, Ashley Adams, Karina Rendon, Taylor Worthington, Brianna Monrose, Christopher Cantu, Abby Davis, Celsie Robertson, Collin Schrieiber, and Rafael Sanchez. Third row, Colten Roberson, Keith Walker, Tyler Stevenson, Madison Holder, Christopher Zevecke, Brandon Cross, Amanda Hodge, Kelsey Weatherman, and Stephanie Pollock.
