Mikel Joe Fuller, 40, of Cleburne, fell asleep and woke up in the arms of the Lord on Friday, April 23, 2010, in Cleburne.

 Funeral services were 3:00 p.m. Tuesday, April 27, 2010, in the Crosier-Pearson Cleburne Chapel. Interment followed in the Rosehill  Cemetery. Visitation was 6:00-8:00 p.m. Monday at the funeral home.  

 Mikel Joe was born August 11, 1969 in Cleburne. He was a member of the  First  United Methodist Church in Alvarado. Mikel Joe served in the United States Army and was a supervisor with Com Fleet.

 From an early age, Mikel Joe was recognized as a natural born leader. He was a 1987 graduate of Cleburne  High School, where he was known as an outstanding athlete. He set a season record in rushing yards during his senior year. It has been said that he had a unique talent for being able to recall player’s numbers by mentioning a name. Mikel was an avid fisherman and shared his passion for fishing with his children as well as camping.

 He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Ruby and Wallace Fuller and D.W. “Bink” Bratcher; brother, Michael Wayne Matthews; uncle, Don Fuller; aunt and uncle, Montie and Fannie Bratcher. Mikel will be missed greatly by all those who knew and loved him. 

 Survivors include his parents, Tommy and Ann Fuller, Jane Matthews and companion, Ted Blixt, Charles and Teresa Matthews; children, Brazos Stihl Fuller, Braxton Lee Fuller, Brayson Kane Fuller, Gracie-Jane Fuller; fiancé, Claudia Bush; siblings, Toni Ayars and husband, Nubbin, Tina Herrmann and husband, Chris, Johnny Matthews and wife, Krista; grandmother, Vera Bratcher; uncle, Joe Bratcher; niece and nephew, Taytem and Tanner Spurlock; sister-in-law, Deb Matthews and a host of other relatives and friends.
