Scouts flip (Posted 1/26/2010 12:42 pm)
Whether you call them flapjacks, pancakes or griddle cakes, a pancake breakfast hits the spot in the morning.

Boy Scout Troop 217 will try their hand at the flipper by cooking up a pancake and bacon breakfast 7-11 a.m. Saturday in the fellowship hall of Alvarado First Methodist Church.

The church is located two blocks south of the downtown square.

Scout parent Mike Fulton said the scouts are trying different ideas to raise money for the troop and will continue the Saturday morning pancake idea for a while.

“Were going to give this spin for a while,” he said. “If this works we may also try a spaghetti dinner. We are just trying different things to see what people like best.”

The breakfast is $5 a plate and will include coffee and juice.
